Dennis Chamberlain
"Finding and Capturing an Artful Landscape Scene"
Dennis is active in the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), a 30,000-member international organization, and the American Society of Photographers (ASP). He has the degrees of Master Artist, Master Photographer, Certified Professional Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, and Educational Associate from those organizations.
He is president of the Corrales Arts Center, a 200-member organization that promotes local artists, and offers classes and workshops in all forms of art, and he is prior president of Corrales Bosque Gallery, a co-op gallery that has continuously been voted the second-best art gallery in the Albuquerque area.
Working with galleries from “both sides of the counter”, Dennis sells his artwork in galleries and shows in Northern New Mexico, including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Bernalillo, Madrid and Corrales.
Southwestern Art Photography
In this presentation Dennis will discuss his experiences in creating his art photography, and he will emphasize, as best he can, how his approaches might also relate to painting with watercolor. Much of his presentation will focus on finding and capturing an artful landscape scene (including capturing the mood). He’ll show examples of his original photographs versus the “final products” which usually involve significant enhancements - from improving the composition and colors to eliminating distracting parts of the scene. In his opinion, even though he adds impact to his photos digitally, there are many similar approaches that would apply to watercolor artists.
