    The New Mexico Watercolor Society is proud to present a watercolor workshop featuring Gayle Weisfield, award-winning artist from Taos, NM.

    Workshop Title - Punch Up the Emotional Story in Your Painting

    Workshop Description - A fun and challenging course for developing your process and concepts. This atypical workshop will loosen you up and help you to think like an artist. We will work as a group to discuss design and composition to enhance the storytelling in your artwork. Gayle will also work 1:1 with each participant, showing them tips and tricks learned over 50 years of watercolor painting.

    Tuition - for the Workshop is $300, payable by credit card or debit card (no checks or cash), in advance to reserve your seat. Parking pass is included. Workshop hours are 9AM to 4PM, with an hour for lunch (on your own). 

    Registration is limited to NMWS Members until January 1. After that date, registration will open to non-members

    Location - Enter Gate #3 at San Pedro and Copper St. NE, to access EXPO-NM/State Fairgrounds. The Hispanic Arts Building is located on Main St.

    Color Play Mini Workshop #2 by Rachel Murphree

    Saturday March 16 from 1-4 pm

    Mesilla Heritage Park Condominium Clubhouse, 905 Conway Ave., Las Cruces, NM

    Explore different palettes to evaluate what kinds of color mixes can be achieved and how they can work for your style and practice.

    Students will receive daubs of four sets of primary colors on temporary palettes, four printed circles to create a palette of primaries and secondary and tertiary mixes from each, and four printed 5x7 landscapes to paint with the sets. Work at your own pace and take home what you haven’t finished to continue learning.

    Bring only smaller brushes, water pot and spritzer. Light refreshments provided. Limited to 12 participants.  Cost: $40.
