Our NMWS Mission

"The New Mexico Watercolor Society honors and celebrates the medium of Watercolor through: support of highest aesthetic standards, education of the public, promotion of community engagement, and facilitation of member development."

Our NMWS Core Values

1. ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH EDUCATION

NMWS promotes to its members and the community the opportunity to become better artists through quality workshops, critiques, exhibitions, plein air paint outs, demonstrations and community outreach classes.  

2. PARTICIPATION AND VOLUNTEERISM

NMWS encourages its members to engage in personal and community enrichment by participation in an array of opportunities from assistant roles to leadership roles, therefore producing a vibrant, active Society.  

3. COMMUNITY PRESENCE

NMWS strives for recognition and respect in our community through promotion of the watercolor medium and outreach projects; in the form of educational opportunities, cooperation with other art groups and public exhibitions.
