Kenneth Hause
I taught math, eastern and western philosophy for forty years. In
that time, I took kids adventuring in the mountains of Colorado and
New Mexico and in the canyon country of Utah. Thus, I was able to
spend a lot of time in beautiful places and have annual three month
vacations. In that space, I painted, welded and carved, looking for
my natural voice. I have had no art training and all the galleries I
have shown in are now out of business.
In the early eighties, I had a piece selected for the NMWS show at
the Albuquerque Museum but allowed my interest in watercolor to lapse.

Around 2005, I joined up with my painting buddy, Fred, and started
cruising around, doing watercolors. I have a painting kit that is
one-tenth of a cubic foot in volume. We can move in and out quickly
and have had encounters with security personnel only twice. We paint
twice a week and sometimes spend the whole day on the road. We call
ourselves a "radical painting cadre" but that has more to do with our
politics than our painting styles.
I primarily work with a 3/4 inch brush on postcard size paper. All of the images shown here are of that nature, When compelled by entry rules, I will move up to slightly larger images. My titles are kinda generic. Seems a painting should stand on its own. Recently, I was in the New Mexico Masterworks Show and the New Mexico Watercolor Society Spring Show where I was a prize winner. I can be contacted at my home,6636 Edgewood Drive, N.W., Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, NM, 87107 |
