NMWS Fall 2008 Exhibition

Our latest juried exhibition at EXPO New Mexico has just come to a close. Over 200 paintings were submitted from all over the state of New Mexico. Our Juror and Judge, Jan Fabian Wallake, was hard pressed to select 100 of the most deserving paintings, but she did it and thanks to the high quality of the entries we received, we were able to put together a wonderful and acclaimed show. Jan Fabian Wallake also offered us her commentaries on her selections. This special touch contributed to the educational goal of our society and offered a wonderful awards ceremony to those in attendance on October 10th. We hope to have an even better show in May of 2009. Please plan on painting and submitting your work to our next members only show. Juror, Hal Lambert, Show Chair, Pat Thompson The New Mexico Watercolor Society Spring 2004 Watercolor Exhibition May 8 through May 20 was a members only show. The New Mexico Watercolor Society Fall 2004 Watercolor Exhibition Oct 9 thru Oct 31 and was open to New Mexico Watercolor Society Members and residents of the state of New Mexico. The deadline for entries was in July and it was judged by Mel Stabin. It was held at the Fine Arts Building of EXPO New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM with the opening reception on Oct 8 from 6 - 8 p.m. Workshop Slides spanning more than 20 years of New Mexico Watercolor Society workshops are available for loan to schools, art councils and similar art organizations. The slide carousels (80 slides per) are divided into early, middle and recent workshops providing approximately one hour of entertainment. Each is accompanied by a notebook which is scripted for the slide presentation and contains a brief bio and philosophy of the featured artists along with other pertinent information.
