Barbara loves to paint the adobe buildings, the mountains, the sunsets, and the 3 diverse cultures, and the beautiful landscapes of New Mexico. She also paints scenes and faces from her world travels to 16 different countries.
Her style could be described as mostly "expressionistic", with an emphasis on line and color. Trying different styles of painting helps in her process of evolving as a painter. There is a joy in the pursuit of anything. Life is finding yourself. It is a spirit development.
Barbara is a Signature Member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society, and, she has received many honors and awards for her paintings in judged and juried art-shows, including: The International Museum of Art in El Paso, Texas, The Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Exhibitions, The National League of American Pen Women's Art Shows, The Las Cruces Art Assoc. Shows, The First Annual SNAP Show in Las Cruces, N.M., The New Mexico State Univ. Art Auctions, The U.S. Forest Service's 150th Celebration Art Show, and The Rio Grande Artes de Las Cruces Shows.
She has exhibited her work in art museums and in art galleries in the States of New Mexico and Texas, and in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Her paintings are also in private collections nationally and inter-nationally.
